@CountryQueersCountry Queers is a pioneering multimedia oral history project and podcast founded in 2013, officially launching on Patreon in December 2018. It focuses on amplifying the often-overlooked voices of LGBTQIA2S+ individuals living in rural, small-town, and country settings across a spectrum of intersecting identities. Through in-depth interviews and storytelling, Country Queers creates a powerful archive of lived experiences, challenging common narratives and fostering a sense of community and belonging. The project has cultivated a dedicated following, currently boasting 83 members with 47 paying patrons who contribute to its continued success. While their financial support fluctuates (estimated monthly earnings between $49-$1715), their impact is undeniable. Country Queers distinguishes itself within the podcasting landscape by its deep commitment to representing the unique challenges and triumphs of rural LGBTQIA2S+ communities, offering vital representation and fostering connections within a historically marginalized population.
