
Kilo Hōkū
@HawaiianStarsKilo Hōkū, a retired Kumu Leilehua, dedicates her time to preserving the rich oral tradition of Hawaiian star stories. For nineteen years, she shared these stories with her community on the slopes of Maunakea, and now she's writing them down in her book project, 'Nānā i nā Hōkū.' With a dedicated following of 43 patrons, Kilo Hōkū is bringing the beauty and wisdom of the Hawaiian night sky to a wider audience. Her work offers a unique perspective on drawing and painting, combining artistic expression with cultural preservation. Through her Patreon, she's able to continue her work, sharing her knowledge and fostering a community of stargazing enthusiasts.
