Shel Maala

Shel Maala, founded in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, is a pioneering digital-first queer Yeshiva. This online community provides access to Jewish learning and tradition for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, fostering a radically irreverent and unapologetically gay environment. Shel Maala's unique approach to Jewish education has resonated with 68 members, with 44 actively supporting the community through paid memberships. While still in its early stages, with an estimated $214 in earnings since its launch on April 4th, 2024, Shel Maala demonstrates a strong commitment to building a vibrant and inclusive online space. The community's growth highlights a need for accessible and affirming Jewish learning, showcasing Shel Maala's distinctive contribution to the digital religious landscape. Its focus on queer inclusivity sets it apart within the broader online finance and religious education spheres.
