Another Subculture

Another Subculture, a London-based photography project, has been a vital part of the city's underground punk and hardcore scene since 2013. Initially focusing on print media – cassette magazines, gig listings, and intensely detailed zines – the project has expanded its reach, leveraging photography to capture the energy and spirit of this vibrant subculture. Since launching their Patreon in August 2019, they've cultivated a dedicated community of 131 members, with 69 actively supporting their work. This has resulted in monthly earnings estimated between $268 and $469, demonstrating the significant impact of their efforts in supporting independent artists and documenting a crucial part of London's musical history. Unlike many photography projects, Another Subculture uniquely blends visual documentation with active participation in the community they represent, creating a rich tapestry of photographic art interwoven with journalistic and promotional support for DIY music.
