Black Witch University
@bwuniversityBlack Witch University, founded in 2016 and launched on Patreon in November 2018, provides a vital online community and mentorship program for Black witches of the diaspora. Their mission is to foster a safe and empowering environment where students can comfortably explore various aspects of the occult and mysticism. Since its inception, the University has cultivated a significant following, boasting 65 total members, with 9 dedicated paid patrons. While their current monthly earnings range from $27 to $297, the modest revenue reflects the significant impact they have made in creating a unique, Maroon space focused on Black diasporic perspectives within the often-exclusionary world of occult studies. Black Witch University distinguishes itself through its explicit focus on the experiences and traditions of Black witches, offering a critical counter-narrative and fostering a sense of belonging within the broader occult community.
