Designers & Dragons

Designers & Dragons is a Patreon dedicated to chronicling the rich history of the role-playing game (RPG) industry. Founded in April 2020, this project initially manifested as a four-book series covering the 1970s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, each exploring the pivotal moments and key players that shaped the industry. These books are still accessible electronically and as audiobooks. Currently boasting over 100 members (50 paid), Designers & Dragons has built a dedicated community around its unique approach to RPG history. With an estimated monthly income ranging from $96 to $432, the project demonstrates consistent support and the value of its meticulously researched content. What sets Designers & Dragons apart is its focused, company-by-company approach, providing a deep dive into the often-overlooked stories behind the iconic games we know and love. The project offers a valuable resource for RPG enthusiasts, historians, and anyone interested in the evolution of this influential cultural phenomenon.
