@queenueQueenue (Rani/Q) is an independent comic creator behind KAI, a YA coming-of-age graphic novel centered on a non-binary teenager from Oʻahu and their connection with an Italian boy from New Jersey. Since launching in March 2019, Queenue has built a thriving community of 286 patrons, with 66 actively supporting their work through paid memberships. This dedicated following has enabled Queenue to generate between $60 and $600 monthly, a testament to the engaging nature of KAI and the strength of their online presence. Queenue shares their work across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Tapas, Webtoons, Ko-fi, and Bluesky, fostering a diverse and connected readership. KAI distinguishes itself through its authentic portrayal of a non-binary protagonist and the exploration of a unique cross-cultural relationship, offering a refreshing perspective within the YA graphic novel genre. Their active Discord server further strengthens the community, fostering discussion and engagement among fans.
